How To Open MDI File In Office 2007

Microsoft Document Imaging file is a multi-tabbed document and in office 2003 you would have seen a printer named Microsoft office document image writer in your printer list but in office 2007 you are unable to see something like this and that’s why you are not able to open this .MDI file on your computer. There are two solutions to resole this issue and first one is to open this file with Microsoft one note but if you don’t have one note installed on your computer or you just don’t want to purchase one note please go for the second solution.

This problem can be resolved by just following few very easy steps involved to install this Microsoft office document image writer. This is a permanent solution of this error.

  1. Go to Control Panel, Open Add or Remove Programs
  2. Highlight Microsoft Office 2007
  3. Click on Change Button
  4. Select Add or Remove Features and then click Continue
  5. Expand Office Tools section.
  6. Click on the drop down list for Microsoft Office Document Imaging and select Run all from My Computer
  7. Click Continue
  8. Click Close

Now you must be able to see a new printer in your printer list with the name of Microsoft document image writer in your printer list and you would be able to open .MDI file without using any other third party or one note program.
