Microsoft Security Essentials Update Error can make you crazy because everything seems normal and there is no specific error as well. Microsoft Security Essential is a great anti-virus and anti-spyware software. I found this software more efficient,  light weight and easy to use. Now coming back to original point I am going to discuss a very common problem that can happen anytime in windows. I hope most of the people new and seen this error message that on startup of windows system says “at least one service is disabled”. This can cause lots of problems in most of the programs running on windows Like I said in the title “Microsoft Security Essential Update Error”.

Error Description: Microsoft Security Essentials
Virus & spyware definitions update failed Microsoft Security Essentials wasn’t able to check for virus & spyware definition updates.Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet and try again.Click ‘Help’ for more information about this problem.Error code: 0x80070422Error description: Microsoft Security Essentials can’t start the update service because it’s been disabled by the local administrator or as a result of a problem in the registry data.

Solution
There is a very simple solution of this error given as under;

1. Go to Start Menu

2. Go to Run

3. Enter services.msc command

4. Go to automatic updates service

5. If the service is disabled, Enable it and start

6. Try again to update the Microsoft Security Essentials
