Now you can update Microsoft Security Essentials without having a dedicated internet connection with your system. Its very easy and simple, you just need to download the right version of Virus Definitions for your system and you are ready to go. I am going to share the links for both 32 bit Windows version and 64 bit Windows version. Download links are given as under:
To download the file for a 32-bit (x86-based) version of Windows

To install the update on any windows version save the above link anywhere on your system and then click the file, When the definition update file runs, a file extraction dialog box appears. The dialog box indicates that the definition update is installing. After the file extraction dialog box closes, you can verify that the virus and spyware definitions have been updated. To do this, open Microsoft Security Essentials, click Update, and then examine the virus and spyware definitions status.
