How to Stop Windows 10 From Uploading Updates to Other Computers Over the Internet? If you are upgrading windows 10 from windows 7/8.1 you will surely come across this issue and if you have a metered internet connection then you are in serious trouble. Microsoft has introduced another type of updates to save his cost of internet connection which is to utilize the uploading bandwidth from users which have already downloaded and upgraded to windows10. There are lot of options available in windows update and security under Windows 10. you have to choose an appropriate one which best suits you. I work in a controlled environment and like to best utilize the bandwidth so I will surely go for get updates from Microsoft and also from my local computers so that I can download the Windows 10 once and use it for every system installed in my office. Now how to change all these settings is described in the pictures below:

Go to start menu and look for Settings. Click on the settings to open it.

Go to Updates and Security on this page.

Click on the Windows Update and Go to the Advanced Options

After opening the advanced options from the above page go to the link “choose how updates are delivered”

open the link and on this page you will get three options

Updates from more than one place

Download windows updates and apps from other PCs in addition to Microsoft. This can help speed up app and update download.

On/Off

This option is used to switch on/off this type of windows update delivery. If its on then your computer will send updates to other computers.

PCs on my local network

This option is most suitable to the users like me who are working in an office and like to save download bandwidth.

PCs on my local network and PCs on the internet

This option is same like the above except it will also send updates to the PCs on the internet.

If you are using a metered internet connection it you can go to the WIFI under settings and choose the appropriate settings.
