Microsoft Outlook 2016 is a great product to manage the emails. It really gives you the liberty to do what you want to do with your emails. It may create some problems while doing some great things. Solution 1:

  • Try to open Outlook in Safe mode by pressing ‘Windows + R’ key on the keyboard and type in ‘Outlook /safe’ and hit OK in the Run open box. Please note that there is a space between Outlook and /.
  • If Outlook safe mode works, try disabling the add-ins associated in Outlook and check.
  • In outlook click on File and then click on options.
  • In the Options Window click on Add-ins.
  • Select Com Add-ins in the Manage list at the bottom in the Add-ins section and click Go. Now uncheck the all the add-ins and click OK.
  • Now try to import the certificate.
  • Once your are done with the import of certificate complete the outlook contact creation task and have fun. I hope this will resolve your problem.

Solution 2:

Close Outlook and IE (if open)

  • Type MMC in Run.
  • Click on File -> Add or Remove Snap-ins.
  • Double click on Certificates from list and select My user account and click on finish and press ok.
  • Expand Personal and click on Certificates.
  • Delete any certificates that Outlook already tried to import and maybe IE too. Make sure you have a backup of all certificates which you are going to delete.
  • Must verify that there is no more certificate in “Trusted People” or “Other People” sections.
  • Re-import the certificates the usual Windows MMC Snap-Ins to the user personal store or by direct double click on certificates files.
  • Now try to import the certificate.
  • Once your are done with the import of certificate complete the outlook contact creation task and have fun. I hope this will resolve your problem.
